- What titles are displayed during the opening sequences?
The first titles which are shown are the producers and any corporations in partnership with the production of the movie. The cast of actors are then credited followed by the casting director. The very last title to be shown is who is the director of the film.
- What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?
Establishing shots of the landscape and home of the main characters are prioritized. A quick change from colorful green scenery is cut to multiple shots of black and white photography of surreal images. This sets an un-comfy, uneasy feeling for the audience. As well as individual shots of each of the characters in separate environments before they are shown together in a shot.
- How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset
The choice to show the individual characters away from each other creates a feeling a separation, and when they are joined with one another the acting feels awkward and forced, making something not feel quite right. Along with the constant changing from black and white to color, makes watching the intro a little unsettling.
